Pregnancy Prehab

Welcome to Prehab. A course which aims to help women prepare for birth, feel stronger during their pregnancy and guide them to a smoother postnatal recovery.

This comprehensive short course is delivered by Emma (Pelvic Health Physiotherapist) alongside a qualified Pre/Postnatal Yoga Teacher over 4 weeks to facilitate women in preparation for birth.

Whether this is your first or third pregnancy or whether you are planning to have a natural delivery or planned caesarean, this course will guide you through the journey of your pregnancy, birth and post-natal recovery.

Post-natal care - New Plymouth Physio

During the interactive workshop you will gain a greater understanding of the mechanics and anatomy of the pelvis, pelvic floor and core unit. You will also learn and be taken through yoga-based exercises that will help to create symmetry and balance within the body and enable you to maintain flexible strength throughout your pregnancy and minimise pain.

You will be able to consider different labour/delivery positions and utilise techniques for during pregnancy and labour that will optimise baby’s position to establish an effective, shorter labour. You will also learn how to care for yourself within the fourth trimester including scar management of caesarean and perineal wounds and help your body to recover from the inside out and return to exercise safely postnatally.

In order to keep the sessions as interactive as possible, each session will be approx. 35mins of education-based information delivered by Emma and then followed/preceded by approximatley 35mins of yoga-based movement flow.

All handout material is included within the workshop and there is a discount for a pelvic health assessment with Emma, after you have delivered your baby (to attend from 6 weeks after birth).

Emma is a qualified Pelvic Health & MSK Physiotherapist and the founder of Full Circle Physiotherapy. Emma’s aim is to empower women by providing them with a practical application of knowledge and information surrounding pregnancy, birth and beyond.
